What’s one of the most exciting days to look forward to after your wedding? Receiving your gallery, of course! The moment your phone pings and you see that anticipated email from your photographer, you’re instantly filled with giddiness and immediately want to open the gallery. Before you do, I always encourage my couples to set aside an hour or two to intentionally go through their gallery and relive their special day with each other. Make yourselves cozy, pour some fancy drinks, turn on your favorite music, and make a sweet date out of it! Here are five additional things you should do when you receive your gallery so you can make the most of the beautiful photos that just arrived in your inbox.
1.) Let your photographer know that you received it & send them a lil message about how they make you feel! We know how tempting it is to download your photos and immediately get to sharing them but we just want to make sure you had no issues getting into your gallery and that you love them as much as we hope + prayed you do!
2.) Download and save ALL of your files in a safe place! This is so so important. Photographers won’t hold onto your photos forever so be sure to have them backed up on a USB, Hard Drive, or Computer File. It doesn’t hurt to have them saved in more than one place!
3.) We absolutely love when our couples share their photos + tag us! When sharing, please do not edit or use a filter on the photos. It brings us so much joy when you post all over social media + share your photos with your family and friends! You are also welcome to send the gallery link to all of your people so they can choose which ones they want to print + share!
4.) Print your photos! Make a photo album, hang them in your home– show them off! Don’t let your photos just live on a screen. If you want your photographer to design + create your wedding album- let them know! Most photographers offer albums. The best place to print your photos is directly through your photographer’s gallery to ensure the best quality!
5.) If you love your photos + the experience that your photographer(s) gave you– write them a review and let them know! Reviews are game-changing for photographers and truly help so much!
Happy reminiscing, newlyweds!
